Terminal 2 |
Rating: |
SOF SOFIA TT0107 /221750 |
General: |
The main airport for the country and for the capital, located on the end of the Metro a few miles North East of the city centre |
Appearance: |
Terminal 2 is a modern building with lots of light and reasonable facilities. |
Domestic
I have not arrived on a domestic flight at this airport
International
After landing you walk up the airbridge into the departures lounge then down an escalator into the immigration area, through from here there is a large baggage reclaim hall with a couple of belts and then out into the arrivals area. When I visited everything was very efficient and disembarkation to the metro was only around 15 minutes, including picking up luggage
Immigration was efficient with lots of booths open
The baggage reclaim hall had quite a bit of space, with a couple of belts. Baggage was efficient with the first bags appearing only a couple of minutes after we landed.
There were no customs officials around as I passed through the green channel.
The metro runs from Terminal 2 directly into the city centre. There are also buses that connect to the outer edges of the tram and metro network
Domestic
I have not flown domestically from this airport
International
There is a large check-in area at the front of the building, from here you walk through the slightly cramped queue system to check your boarding card before you take an escalator up one floor to the security area. Once through security you are in the departures lounge with the duty free shop and a couple of cafe/bars.
There didn't appear to be anything landside, airside there are two café/bars
There didn't appear to be anything landside, airside there are two café/bars
One of the café/bars airside does do larger dishes, but not a full restaurant
One large duty free shop and a couple of smaller gift shops airside
The toilets were clean and well maintained
