Wall: Letocetum Wall: Letocetum National Trust and English Heritage

Description

Located on Watling Street (now shadowed by the main A5 and M6) Letocetum was an important staging post along the road to help keep the Roman Army moving. Today parts of the Bath house and Mansio are visible and you can walk around them - there are several information boards across the site

Getting There

X3 (every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday) and 36 (every hour Monday to Saturday) run to the bus stop for the Wall Turn on the Birmingham Road, taking about 10 minutes. From there it's a 20 minute walk along Watling Street to reach the site. A handful of 36 buses divert into Wall and stop (extra 5 minutes, 2-4 buses a day) in the centre of the village, though the timings either leave you with too much (2+ hours) or too little (less than 30 minutes) time to look around.
